The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 Project (MMSS3) is an elevated expressway from Buendia, Makati City to the North Luzon Expressway in Balintawak, Quezon City with a length of about 18.83 kilometers.

As per the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH), this project aims to connect the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and decongest traffic in Metro Manila especially C4 (EDSA), C5 (CP Garcia), and Central Metro Manila.

Good news to all, MMSS3 is expected to decongest EDSA and other major roads (Quezon Ave., Araneta Ave., Nagtahan, Quirino Ave., etc.) by as much as 55,000 vehicles daily and reduce travel time from Buendia to Balintawak from two hours to just 15 to 20 minutes. Motorists are no longer have to suffer from traffic congestion for several hours. Their precious time can now be used for more meaningful things rather than being stuck in EDSA.

Finally! The Skyway Stage 3 was officially opened last Friday, 15th of January 2021. The complete opening of all seven lanes of the 18-kilometer Skyway Stage 3 Elevated Expressway between the South Luzon and North Luzon expressways is expected for regular vehicles. SKYWAY 3 IS ALSO TOLL-FREE UNTIL JANUARY 29, announced by the management.

Currently, San Miguel Corporation has not announced the toll price for using Skyway Stage 3. Provided that Stage 3 is run by SMC, which fully funded the project and is part of the Skyway System, the AutoSweep RFID system will also be used. As the Toll Regulatory Board has already confirmed, cash lanes will remain on the expressways until further notice.

Filipinos are hoping that once SMC starts charging motorists after February 1, the toll price for using the new Skyway Stage 3 will not be too costly.
