The South Korean boy band phenomenon Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) will be releasing their first English language song ‘Dynamite’ by tomorrow, August 21. Big Hit Entertainment, their agency, announced the K-pop stars comeback this month with a prelude digital single for their new album. The title ‘Dynamite’ was inspired for BTS most awaited explosive comeback that will revitalize their huge international fan base.
Bangtan Boys continue to amaze us by stepping outside their comfort zones of singing in the Korean language. ‘Dynamite’ is their first-ever song performed completely in English that’s why it was quite challenging, but it was also fun. As of what Jungkook said, “It was more not hard, but interesting. It was an interesting kind of challenge,” with RM quoting that it was a “fun hard.”
About BTS thought way back 2019, that they didn’t plan to sing in the English language because they didn’t want to change their identity, we are now in a global pandemic and people are using this time to discover what else they can do. For Suga’s perspective on Dynamite, “This is a situation that everybody else around the world is facing, so we just started to explore what can we do right now, what can we do really good?” RM added that making their new song was like destiny. He said, “Who would ever think of this pandemic? No meeting, no karaoke, no concerts? Even no walking in the park. So we never expected this song would come fully in English. During the process of making our album, it just came to us.” Likewise, Jin is taking this as an opportunity and for him, it is a chance to sort of bringing on new challenges for himself and try new things.
BTS members are also suffering from the COVID-19 crisis just like us. They can’t do any more their hobbies outside because of the virus infections. To combat stress, they use their music and share this with the fans. According to J-Hope, “We’re in this situation that we have, what is it that can lift me up? The conclusion is always going to be music and dance that lifts me up so I’ve been trying to listen to music, I’ve been to write music, dance and that’s what I’ve been doing to cope with the situation.”
