SM Cinema had opened its first drive-in cinema in SM City Pampanga and SM Mall of Asia concert grounds in Pasay City. The SM Pampanga started on July 31st while the “Movies by the Bay” of MOA just started to run last month, September 9th, from Wednesdays through Sundays at 6:45 PM.

To buy tickets, you will have to book online in advance at SM Tickets website (https://smtickets.com/). These cost P400.00 per person with the inclusion of regular popcorn, bottled water, and beef franks, and a maximum of four persons per vehicle. Of course, the best viewing experiences is the driver and passenger seat. Tickets will strictly not be sold at the venue. Bring your smart device that was used to purchase tickets and the QR code will be scanned at the SM Drive-In Cinema entrance. Ticket refunds will be allowed only if bad weather conditions occur. Subsequently, guests are allowed to rebook a later screening date.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, moviegoers are required to wear masks even inside their cars for safety protocols. All outside foods and beverages are prohibited to take in the drive-in cinema. Foods are available on site and the menu is provided upon entering the cinema. Also, a food ordering flag is given by the moviegoers which can be used to call the attention of the servers/vendors.

The movie audio can be heard using built-in FM radios inside the vehicles which will be utilized to stream the sound. Viewers will be informed before the screening as to what frequency their radios should be on to hear. The SM Cinema highly encourages the guests to turn on their aircon only every 20 minutes for 10 minutes because it is dangerous for the environment to have cars running at prolonged duration.

Note that only enclosed vehicles with windows (Sedans/Cars, SUVs and Vans) will be allowed entry to the SM Drive-In Cinema. No motorbikes will be allowed. Moreover, any arriving vehicle when the screening is ongoing must turn on their parking lights only. Once parked, turn parking lights off and keep your handbrakes secured. SM Drive-In Cinema Staff will direct drivers as to how and where to park.
