BTS & Blackpink Won Awards at 2020 MTV Video Music Awards

K-Pop phenomenal Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) won four big awards and one of the biggest girl groups in the world Blackpink got their first-ever trophy at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday, August 30 (Monday, August 31 in the Philippines). BTS with seven superstar members – RM, Jin, V, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, and J-Hope won all the categories they were nominated in and gathered the four promising awards: Best Group, Best K-Pop, Best Pop, and Best Choreography. Meanwhile, Blackpink with four gorgeous members – Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé grabbed their first win at the MTV VMAs after their hit song “How You Like That” got the Song of Summer Award.

Blackpink under YG Entertainment overtakes other nominees like Cardi B’s “WAP”, Miley Cyrus’ ” Midnight Sky”, DaBaby’s Rockstar, and more hit songs of 2020 from other worldwide superstars. Last year, Blackpink got nominated for the Best Group but BTS took the crown. On the other hand, BTS under Big Hit agency had won in a second straight year for The Best Group and The Best K-Pop categories. They performed their newest record breaker song “Dynamite” for the first time at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
